The CAPTRON SafeCAP is a capacitive two-hand control system developed for the safe operation of hazardous industrial machinery. As the pioneer of capacitive two-hand control technology, CAPTRON offers a solution that combines maximum operator safety with exceptional durability and user comfort.

To initiate machine operation, the operator must simultaneously activate two capacitive SENSORswitches connected to a safety relay. The system continuously monitors both activation signals and reliably detects incorrect operation, including attempts to start the machine using only one hand or another part of the body. In such cases, machine operation is safely prevented.

Unlike conventional mechanical pushbuttons, SafeCAP uses pressure-free capacitive sensing technology. This eliminates mechanical wear, significantly extends service life and reduces operator fatigue during continuous operation.

The SafeCAP system can be combined with additional safety accessories such as the Protector hand guard and the Control Desk for tabletop installation. These complete assemblies are certified according to DIN EN 13851, providing an even higher level of operator protection.

The dynamically switching CAPTRON SENSORswitches reliably compensate for environmental influences such as dust, dirt and foreign objects while maintaining dependable operation. The sensors can also be activated while wearing disposable gloves or industrial work gloves.

Thanks to their fully electronic design, SafeCAP switches offer exceptional robustness, high reliability and a long service life, making them ideal for demanding industrial environments. Integrated LED indicators provide clear visual feedback regarding the operating status of each sensor.

The system fulfills the highest machine safety requirements according to Category 4 and Performance Level e (PL e) in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, making it suitable for applications where maximum safety performance is required.
