The KSS Customized Ball Screw with Ball Spline (BSSP) combines the functions of a miniature ball screw and a ball spline in a single shaft, providing precise linear positioning and simultaneous torque transmission. Developed for demanding automation applications, the BSSP enables compact machine designs while reducing the number of mechanical components.

The product range is available as customized solutions to meet individual machine requirements. Depending on the application, two design concepts are available:

Separated Type

The ball screw and the ball spline are machined on separate sections of the same shaft, allowing each function to operate independently while maintaining excellent rigidity and positioning performance. This configuration is well suited for applications requiring dedicated linear drive and torque transmission zones.

Overlap Type

The ball screw and the ball spline are machined on the same section of the shaft. This compact arrangement allows longer travel within a shorter overall assembly length, making it ideal where installation space is limited without compromising motion performance.

Both configurations are manufactured according to customer requirements, enabling optimum integration into robotics, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, laboratory automation, precision assembly systems, and other advanced automation applications.
