Kollmorgen direct-drive motors transmit motion directly to the load without intermediate mechanical transmission elements such as gearboxes, belts, pulleys, ball screws or rack-and-pinion systems. Eliminating these components reduces backlash, compliance, friction and mechanical losses while enabling a more compact, quieter and dynamically responsive machine design.
The Kollmorgen direct-drive portfolio includes DDR rotary servo motors, CDDR frameless direct-drive motors and DDL direct-drive linear motors. These solutions provide accurate positioning, smooth motion, high acceleration and improved transmission speed while reducing system inertia and energy consumption. Since the motor is connected directly to the moving load, the control system can react faster and achieve more stable motion without compensating for mechanical play or transmission elasticity.
Direct-drive technology also simplifies maintenance by removing components that require lubrication, tension adjustment or periodic replacement. There are no gearboxes to service, belts to tighten or mechanical transmission elements to wear, helping increase mean time between failures (MTBF). Typical applications include rotary indexing tables, machine tools, packaging systems, inspection equipment, semiconductor machinery, robotics and precision handling. As an official Kollmorgen partner, BIBUS Kft. supports motor sizing, drive selection, mechanical integration, feedback configuration and commissioning.

Housed DDR servomotors offer high torque density, precise performance and zero maintenance in an easily installed servo solution.

Cartridge DDR® servomotors combine the performance advantages of a frameless motor with the ease of installation of a full-frame motor.

This development places special emphasis on compliance with European industrial standards, while maintaining the high quality and reliability expected from CKD products.

These torquer brushless motors are optimized to deliver high torque at relatively low speeds in low-voltage applications such as robotic joints, mobile robots and other battery-operated machines.

The KBM™ Series provides low- and high-voltage motors (120–480 Vac) designed to be directly embedded in your machine using the machine’s own bearings to support the rotor.
