What is the Innovation Tax Credit (ITC)) ?

The Innovation Tax Credit is a tax scheme that allows SMEs to benefit from a tax credit equivalent to 20% of expenses incurred for the design of prototypes or pilot installations of new products.

Unlike the Research Tax Credit (CIR), the CII is specifically dedicated to product innovation, whether technological, functional or in use. It aims to encourage companies to transform their innovative ideas into concrete and industrializable solutions.

To be eligible, the work must relate in particular to :

  • the design of new or significantly improved products,
  • the development of prototypes or demonstrators,
  • Increased technical, functional or environmental performance.
